Paralos S.A. undertakes the landmark Cold Ironing project at the Port of Igoumenitsa

Paralos S.A. proudly announces the award of a contract by DEDDIE (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator – HEDNO) for the construction of Onshore Power Supply (OPS) infrastructure at the Port of Igoumenitsa. This project marks a milestone in the modernization of Greek port infrastructure and the strengthening of the country’s environmental sustainability.

The project involves the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of three power supply units (two with a capacity of 3 MVA and one with 0.5 MVA). Upon its completion within the next 18 months, berthed vessels (Ro-Pax) will be able to shut down their auxiliary engines and be powered directly from the electricity distribution grid.
